We held initial discussions with Wayne Murphy about bringing his aviation business into Rokstone. Introduced by his existing capacity provider, Best Meridian Insurance (BMI), there were obvious synergies with Wayne's approach and vision for the future – an impressive cultural fit. Having previously been Head of Aviation at Trust Re, and held other senior leadership roles at several large insurance groups, the experience spoke for itself.


We quickly brought in a number of our world class core teams to provide access to trading platforms, compliance advice, IT and operational support, handling of the general finance set-up, and development of cross-media marketing plans, to further grow the business under the Rokstone brand.


A little over a month later and less than three months from the initial conversation, at the start of July 2020, everything was in place for the business to launch, backed by USD50m worth of A-rated capacity.

By the end of November, the Aviation portfolio wrote in excess of USD13m of GWP. Existing clients were onboarded and new business transacted, despite the challenging trading conditions brought about by Covid-19.
