We are delighted to announce our acquisition of specialist Marine MGA, Post & Co.
Headquartered in Rotterdam, and also operating from offices in Groningen, Antwerp and Frankfurt, Post & Co will sit within Rokstone, marking a landmark transaction uniting two independent businesses and unlocking a new growth platform across Continental Europe.
Rokstone’s Marine Expansion
Post & Co is one of Continental Europe’s most established Marine underwriting businesses, founded in 1918 and still shaped by a long-standing family ownership mindset. With around 250 brokers across Europe and Asia, it brings both scale and immediate credibility to markets in which Rokstone is keen to expand.
Rokstone CEO, James Potter, said, “Marine is one of our largest and most strategically important business lines. Post & Co’s portfolio is complementary to Rokstone’s existing Specialty Marine operations in North America, the UK and Asia. They have an excellent reputation in this space, making it an attractive and timely opportunity.”
Post & Co offers a comprehensive range of marine-based insurance lines, including P&I, charterers and shipowners’ liability, war risk, cargo and logistics-related covers. Backed by Lloyd’s and specialist company market capacity, Post & Co adds depth in underwriting authority, claims expertise and broker connectivity.
For brokers and clients, it means access to a broader product offering, enhanced underwriting expertise and a stronger global platform with local presence. It also opens up access to Rokstone’s technology, including ATOMX, supporting a more connected and efficient trading experience.
For capacity partners, it creates expanded distribution across Europe and Asia, alongside a stronger Marine proposition backed by specialist underwriting expertise and an established broker network.
Our Cultural Alignment
With over a century of independent, family-owned heritage, Post & Co has a strong cultural alignment with Rokstone, as our employee-owned structure reflects similar values and long term strategic ambitions.
There is a shared belief in backing people, taking ownership and building something fit for the future. The acquisition is growth focused, with no changes to Post & Co’s management or organisation. Their CEO, Roderick Post, and leadership team will continue to lead the business and play a key role in shaping our growth across Continental Europe within Marine.
Roderick said, “Post & Co has been part of our family for more than 100 years, and the decision to find the right long-term partner was one we approached with considerable care.” He continued, “I am proud to be joining Rokstone and look forward to contributing to the development of the Group.”
The acquisition reflects a business that is prepared to grow through selective, high-quality partnerships and confident enough in its own model to bring other successful businesses into it. We look forward to what the future holds with Post & Co.
