Livestock Motor Truck Cargo
Overview
Providing broad coverage for losses to animals in transit, whether they are your property or the property of others. Protection includes death, humane destruction, crippling, bruising, injury and / or escape of animals while in transit.
The policy extends to cover salvage and recovery, debris removals, freight charges, theft, loss of value, and transit-related incidents such as vehicle breakdown or accidents during loading and unloading.
Risk Appetite
We provide coverage for a wide range of livestock transport operations, including:
- For hire motor carriers transporting animals owned by others
- Livestock owners transporting their own animals
- Cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and poultry
- Limited appetite (death and humane destruction only)
- Horses
- Higher value cattle, swine, sheep and goats exceeding USD 5,000 per head
- Other live animal species not listed above
- Non-animal exposures if less than 50% of loads
- Preferred appetite is agricultural commodities

Livestock Care, Custody and Control
Overview
Our Livestock Care, Custody and Control policy provides liability coverage for losses caused by death, injury or theft of non-owned livestock in the insured’s care, custody and control that they become legally obligated to pay the owner of the livestock.
Risk Appetite
We focus on operations raising livestock under contractual feeding arrangements, including swine and poultry confinement growers raising meat animals or replacement breeding stock.

Overview
Coverage protects against accidental death or injury of animals while on-site or in transit. The policy also extends to cover carcass removal, salvage and recovery expenses, theft, losses during loading or unloading, and death of livestock due to a named peril, if they escape or stray from a scheduled location.
