Rokstone planting the seed of US success

The new unit will be launching  one of the market’s first online quote and buy platforms for Agriculture cover. A number of A-Rated carriers are being lined up to provide Brokers and agents in the US with this niche opportunity, offering a simple, efficient and market leading solution for agricultural risks, backed up by expert underwriters.

The first products planned to go live on the digital platform will be a number of new specialist livestock and equine products.

We have recruited underwriting specialist Eric Conklin to build and lead the unit, who has over 20 years’ experience underwriting livestock and equine business. Prior to joining Rockstone, Eric was the Head of Equine & Livestock Americas for AXA XL, where he managed the Equine portfolio and built a significant livestock business from the ground up.

Eric explained why this groundbreaking new proposition will be such a vital entrant to US Agricultural underwriting when the unit begins trading.

“We’re launching this new division at such a pivotal moment in US agriculture underwriting,” he said. “It is an area that has suffered from lack of innovation and the hard market has been punishing.  We plan to disrupt the underwriting approach with one of the US market’s first online quote and buy facilities for livestock risks.”

Rokstone has already had outstanding success with this approach in the UK, where our iFarm business is now the fastest growing agricultural MGA in the UK

Rokstone Agriculture Risk Underwriters will leverage this expertise and technical capability in the US market.

Tony Lawrence, Rokstone’s Chief Digital Distribution Officer, added: “Our specialist knowledge, use of technology and approach to underwriting means we can provide broader, more relevant cover, that’s quicker to secure than anywhere else.”

The division will join our already highly success US Construction underwriting division, Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters, as we look to keep growing our North American presence.
