Outside of work, Paul enjoys playing golf and going to the gym.
“It was an exciting opportunity to join Rokstone Property as an underwriter in 2017, at the start of its journey. It has been great to be part of its early development, able to watch it grow into the successful multi-class business it is today. Rokstone is a dynamic, friendly and entrepreneurial place to work, with a strong teamwork ethos.”
Ian Anson is the portfolio manager for property, power and energy at Rokstone. Ian works in the direct and facultative property division and is responsible for business production and analysis, and facultative reinsurance buying strategy and execution.
He started his career in 2013 and spent the subsequent years at Alesco, working in onshore energy and power generation specialty lines. From there he developed a specialism in heavy industrial risks and managed a team of onshore energy brokers placing international energy accounts.
If Ian wasn’t working for Rokstone, he would probably be playing golf, having earned a golf scholarship to the University of Kansas.
“I wanted to join one of the most entrepreneurial businesses in the London insurance market. Rokstone seemed to be a very exciting business to join and that has certainly proved to be the case.”
Reece Ranson is a portfolio assistant for the facultative property team at Rokstone.

“Upon seeing the role and looking up the company I got interested. Then, after speaking to a couple of the team in my first interview I was hooked.”
Portfolio Manager – Property
Kevin Galer is a portfolio manager for property at Rokstone. Kevin is responsible for UK corporate property reinsurance business.
He has been underwriting and managing books of business for over 30 years and has always enjoyed trading with his broker friends.
When he isn’t working for Rokstone, he can be found boat angling and searching for that record fish. Kevin also enjoys beating his children at computer games and finding excuses to avoid the numerous DIY jobs his beloved wife keeps finding for him.
“I joined Rokstone because I wanted to be more than just a number in a large corporate company. I am with like-minded people and the culture here is to find a way to write business instead of a reason not to. The opportunity to underwrite in a hardening market was too attractive to turn down and Rokstone lets me get on with what I enjoy most – trading.”
