iSure Underwriting

Avril Cox is a director and senior underwriter at iSure Ireland, responsible for underwriting commercial insurance policies, broker development and marketing.

She joined iSure in November 2019, having spent over 15 years in the insurance industry working for MGAs and insurance companies.

Prior to getting into insurance Avril was an aspiring archaeologist and outside of work she volunteers on digs around Ireland and further afield. She also loves watersports, especially rowing.

Sean Murray is the chief executive officer of iSure Underwriting.

He joined iSure in July 2015, coming from W.R. Berkley Corporation. His aim is to make specialist insurance easy to buy through the expertise of iSure’s people, the embracement of Insurtech and iSure’s agility and speed. He looks to capture value by operating with brokers who acknowledge and adopt iSure’s service proposition in return for being one of their primary providers. This has enabled iSure to build strategic relationships with a defined number of selected broking partners and offer a degree of exclusivity.

Outside of work, Sean comes from a sporting family, and played Gaelic football for his hometown of Ballinamore, County Leitrim, from an 8-year-old right up until he retired at the age of 33. He also played for the county team Leitrim at U-16, minor, U-21s and the Senior team.
