A Rokstone Welcome for Paul Amrose

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Paul Amrose, an industry heavyweight, leading the Rokstone North American Excess Facultative Property team, based in Connecticut.
With a resume that practically breathes experience and success stories, Paul stepped into the role on January 2, bringing with him a wealth of expertise gained from his roles as Chief Underwriting Officer for Accredited US and Ascot US - as well as co-founding Direct Fac.
An Expert Leader
Starting 2024 with a bang, backed by the support of Lloyd’s and steered by Hiscox 33, Paul’s strategic vision aims to transform this division into a powerhouse, starting with a $5m line.
What is Paul’s mission? To ride the waves of this dynamic market, meeting the increasing demand for specialized coverage in both individual risk and auto facultative.
Rokstone’s Talent Symphony
Joining the ranks of industry luminaries such as Mike Nukk, Jordan Lanford and Darren Delande, Paul’s appointment at Rokstone is the latest in several high-profile recruits. In the last 12 months, Rokstone has launched no fewer than ten new divisions, spanning the UK, Ireland, and the United States.
These divisions are not simply names on paper - they represent specialist teams in Marine, Aviation, A&H, PI, D&O, Credit and Surety Treaty, Power and Energy, Contingency, and now North American Excess Fac Property.
The Rokstone Roadmap for Growth
James Potter, CEO of Rokstone, is delighted about the newest addition to the team in ‘industry legend’ Paul. After seeing a steady stream of talent crossing the threshold at Rokstone in 2023, there is no sign of that changing any time soon. He said,
“Rokstone is truly the most vibrant and exciting underwriting business in the world. Independent with a consistent market-beating performance, we have successfully attracted some of the world’s best underwriting talent.”
With a number of new launches in the pipeline for 2024, James is pleased with the growth witnessed in 2023 while maintaining top-quartile loss ratios. He said,
“Looking forward, we have serious ambitions to more than double our GWP in the near term and expand into new lines and target territories. We continue to explore strategic opportunities with our close carrier partners and continue to attract market leading entrepreneurial talent.”
Hiscox’s Standing Ovation for Rokstone
Paul Lawrence, Chief Underwriting Officer at Hiscox London Markets, showers Rokstone with applause. Giving Hiscox’s nod of approval, Paul said,
“We like working with Rokstone. They continue to attract top industry talent, have an excellent platform, and most importantly, they deliver.”
Armed with a dream team, an unrelenting pursuit of excellence, and a visionary roadmap, Rokstone stands ready to redefine the standards of underwriting and lead the pack into new territories of market dominance.
